Disabled dating in Norfolk
From Norwich, King's Lynn and Great Yarmouth to Cromer, Thetford and Dereham, meet disabled singles across Norfolk, one of the flattest and most relaxed counties in England.
Norfolk at a glance
Norfolk is big skies, wide beaches and quiet waterways, and most of it is gently flat, which makes it easier than many places to get out and about. Norwich is the hub, with a medieval centre and plenty of cafés; the Broads stretch away to the east; and the north coast has some of the best beaches in the country. The county is large and rural, so many members live in villages and small towns, and a date often means agreeing on a town you can both reach.

Disability dating in Norfolk, near your part of the county
In a county of villages, being matched with someone forty miles away is not much help. Disability Dates shows you members near you first, then lets you look further, into Suffolk, Cambridgeshire or beyond, whenever you choose. Norwich is the obvious meeting point for a lot of people, with a step-free station and a level centre, but Dereham, Wymondham or a seaside town can be easier if you both live out that way.
Dating for disabled people in Norfolk, the unhurried way
Norfolk does not do rushing, and neither do we. Plenty of members message for weeks before meeting, and nobody minds. Once you both feel ready, a boat trip on the Broads or a stroll along a boardwalk gives you something to share without having to perform. If your condition brings fatigue, plan a shorter date with a proper sit-down in the middle, and tell your match why. Most people will be grateful you did.
Norfolk: accessible first-date ideas
Gentle ground, water and big views. Check access with each place before you set off.
Norwich city centre
The cathedral close, the castle on its mound and the market sit within a short walk of each other, mostly on the flat. Elm Hill is pretty but cobbled.
An accessible Broads boat trip
Some boat operators at Wroxham and around the Broads offer trips that suit wheelchair users. Sit back and watch the reeds and windmills go by.
Whitlingham Country Park
Lakeside trails and a café just outside Norwich. Level, peaceful and easy to reach.
Holkham beach
A huge sandy beach reached by an accessible boardwalk through the pine trees, with Holkham Hall and its parkland just inland.
Cromer pier
A classic seaside pier in the town famous for its crabs. Buy lunch and sit looking out over the sea.
Hunstanton promenade
A level promenade below the striped cliffs, and one of the few east-coast resorts where you can watch the sun set over the sea.
Getting around Norfolk
Norwich station is step-free, with fast services to London and Cambridge and branch lines out to Great Yarmouth, Sheringham and the coast; King's Lynn has its own line to Cambridge and London. If you drive, the A11 and A47 are the main routes. For the coast and the Broads a car is usually easiest, and you will find Blue Badge parking at most of the well-known places to visit. Journeys take longer than you might expect on country roads, so for a first date it often makes sense to meet in a town on a train or bus route you both use.
A disabled person's bus pass from Norfolk County Council makes off-peak buses free across the county and the rest of England, which helps when your match lives a few villages away.

A loving woman makes me happy. Married twice, still get visits from my first wife in my nursing home. Widowed last Christmas after being married for over 50 years, so I know how to behave (I think). I want to love and be loved if that's possible at my age.

What makes me happiest is spending time with my family and friends, having a good laugh and making people smile. I love comedy, especially Ricky Gervais and After Life, and I enjoy telling jokes and having a bit of banter. I also like going out for lunch, enjoying a nice cup of tea and spending quality time with people I care about. I’m happiest when I can be myself, have a laugh and enjoy the little things in life. I’d love to meet someone I can share laughs, good times and new experiences with.

Norfolk: your questions
Can you take a Broads boat trip in a wheelchair?
Yes, with the right operator. A few boats at Wroxham and elsewhere on the Broads are set up for wheelchairs, so ring ahead to check yours will fit.
Is there a disabled dating site in Norfolk?
Yes. Disability Dates welcomes disabled singles from Norwich, King's Lynn, Great Yarmouth and every corner of Norfolk. It is free to join.
Is Holkham beach accessible?
An accessible boardwalk runs through the pines to the beach, which makes it one of the easier big beaches to reach. The sand beyond it is soft.
I live in a small village. Will there be anyone nearby?
You will see the people nearest to you first. If you want more choice, take the search out to Suffolk and Cambridgeshire too.
