Disabled dating in Lancashire
From Preston, Lancaster and Blackpool to Blackburn, Burnley, Lytham St Annes and Clitheroe, meet disabled singles across Lancashire and plan a date by the sea or in the Ribble Valley.
Lancashire at a glance
Lancashire has seaside fun, quiet countryside and proper northern friendliness. Blackpool, Lytham St Annes and Morecambe line the coast; Preston and Lancaster are the cities; Blackburn, Burnley and the old mill towns sit to the east; and the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland are green and peaceful. It is a large county, so it helps to know whether you are a coast person or a valley person when you start chatting.

Disability dating in Lancashire, on the coast or inland
A member in Morecambe and a member in Burnley live a fair way apart, so it helps that Disability Dates puts the people nearest to you first. Manchester, Merseyside, Cumbria and Yorkshire are all within reach when you want more choice. Preston sits in the middle of it all, on the main line with a compact centre, which makes it a sensible place for a first coffee.
Dating for disabled people in Lancashire, with a bit of seaside fun
First dates do not have to be serious. A tram ride along the front, chips on a bench, a wander under the Illuminations: Lancashire is good at easy, cheerful plans that take the pressure off. If you need a rest every so often, the prom has plenty of benches and shelters. Tell your match what helps, then enjoy yourselves.
Lancashire: accessible first-date ideas
Long, flat seafronts and a few gentle inland spots. Access can change, so check before you go.
Blackpool Promenade
Miles of flat, well-kept prom with the Tower and the piers alongside. The seafront trams are accessible, so you can ride part of the way.
Blackpool Illuminations
In autumn the whole front lights up. An easy, cheerful evening date, and you can see a lot of it without leaving the prom.
Morecambe seafront
A flat promenade with views across the bay to the Lake District fells, the famous statue of Eric Morecambe and the art-deco Midland Hotel.
Lytham St Annes
The quieter choice, with its windmill on the green and an elegant, level seafront.
Williamson Park, Lancaster
The domed Ashton Memorial and big views. Only some of the paths are accessible, so pick your route on the park map.
The Ribble Valley
Gentle countryside around Clitheroe, with a castle, pretty villages and good food. Far easier going than the high fells.
Getting around Lancashire
The M6 and M65 cross Lancashire. Preston and Lancaster are both on the West Coast Main Line, and branch lines head out to Blackpool, the seaside towns, Blackburn and Burnley. Preston and Lancaster stations are step-free, and you can arrange for staff to help you ahead of time. You will find Blue Badge parking in the town centres and at most big attractions. Out in the Ribble Valley and Bowland, a car is often easiest.
Lancashire County Council issues disabled people's bus passes in most of the county; Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen have their own schemes. The pass covers local buses at off-peak times, both here and elsewhere in England.

Lancashire: your questions
Is Blackpool good for a wheelchair user?
The promenade is long, flat and well kept, the seafront trams are accessible, and the Pleasure Beach and the Tower both publish detailed access information.
Is there a disabled dating site in Lancashire?
Disability Dates is a free-to-join site for disabled singles, with members in Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster, Blackburn and the rest of Lancashire. Those nearest you appear first.
When are the Blackpool Illuminations on?
They run every year from late summer into the autumn. Check this year's dates before you plan an evening date around them.
Is Morecambe a good place for a first date?
Yes, if you like a view. The promenade is flat, the bay and the Lakeland fells are right in front of you, and the Midland Hotel is there for a drink afterwards.
